//abbiamo visto nella scorsa lezione come gestire e utilizzare l’altezza layer. Come definire la qualità del pezzo o come rendere più veloce la stampa. Oggi vediamo i parametri relativi all’estrusione della stampante 3D.
Vediamo in questo articolo i settaggi base di Canvas utilizzato come Slicer per stampanti 3D con un colore.
All’interno della sezione “Project Settings” possiamo trovare:
- Extrusion Width: Larghezza estrusione
- Extrusion multipler: “flusso” o percentuale estrusione
- Gap fill: Riempimento spazio vuoto
- Gap fill threshold: Lunghezza spazio vuoto da riempire
- Retraction distance: Distanza di retrazione
- Retraction speed: Velocità di retrazione
Extrusion Width: Larghezza estrusione
La larghezza di estrusione, non è altro che la distanza fra una linea e l’altra. Se utilizziamo una linea da 0.4mm le linee saranno distanti fra loro 0.4mm. Se utilizziamo altri valori la stampante scosterà le varie linee del valore inserito. Questo valore è in genere lasciato uguale all’ugello montato.
Extrusion multipler: “flusso” o percentuale estrusione
Il flusso invece, a differenza della larghezza di estrusione, determina la quantità di materiale depositata nello stesso percorso macchina. Se il valore è 100% il flusso sarà esattamente come la stampante 3D è tarata. Se il flusso è gestito diversamente da 100, l’estrusore girarà più o meno rispetto allo standard determinando una resistenza maggiore o una resa estetica migliore.
Il flusso è un parametro importante che talvolta fa la differenza. In base alla forma dell’oggetto ed alla sua massa, va tarato l’estrusore in modo differente. Un oggetto quindi stampato al 100% va tenuto con flusso leggermente più basso come 98/96%. Oggetti invece grossi e con bassi riempimenti vanno tenuti a flussi leggermente più alti. per compensare lo svuotamento e garantire comunque una buona resistenza.
Ricapitolando, il flusso può variare dai 95 ai 105 e determina la quantità di materiale spinta all’interno dello stesso percorso macchina.
Gap fill: Riempimento spazio vuoto
Talvolta, questo parametro può servire a riempire gli spazi più piccoli che altrimenti non verrebbero riempiti. Per spazi vuoti per esempio di 0.2mm, questo parametro ha la funzionalità di riempire quello spazio.
Gap fill threshold: Lunghezza spazio vuoto da riempire
Come la retrazione, anche questo parametro determina una soglia su cui agire. Se lo spazio è più lungo della soglia impostata, la stampante lo riempirà. Se lo spazio è inferiore, questo spazio non verrà riempito. Talvolta l’uso di questa funzione determina un flusso più alto del dovuto.
Retraction distance: Distanza di retrazione
La retrazione è un parametro che ritira il filamento prima di spostarsi da un punto all’altro senza stampare. Per un approfondimento puoi visitare il seguente articolo. La distanza di retrazione non è altro che un valore espresso in mm. La stampante ritrarrà il filamento dei millimetri definiti in questo parametro. In base alla stampante utilizzata, o per la precisione in base all’estrusore montato nella stampante 3D, il valore cambierà.
Se utilizziamo un “estrusore diretto” il valore da usare sarà fra i 2mm ed i 3 mm. PEr un estrusore “bowden” ovvero con motore separato dall’hotend, il valore sarà dai 6mm ai 7.5mm in base alla lunghezza del tubo PTFE.
Retraction speed: Velocità di retrazione
La retrazione, oltre che avere un valore che determina la lunghezza del filamento che viene ritratta, ha anche una velocità. La stampante ritirerà il filamento con la velocità definita. In genere il valore da usare è fra i 30mm\s e i 40 mm\s.

Il parametro che più utilizzo per regolare la corretta estrusione di materiale all’interno del mio oggetto è il flusso. Un ottimo regolatore dell’estrusione.

2) spend a lot of time researching, writing and experimenting.
3) have a plan to earn from what you write (for example I am a teacher in a school and I have Fabula3d.it)
4) do not develop general articles … develop technical and specific topics.
