Previously we saw how to access the online 3D Projects Gallery and open a file.
Let’s see now how to operate on the parts of the 3D model.
In the last lesson, we opened a file and saw a situation like this one:
The icons on the top right corner are “Gather” and “Divide”; these are useful functions to work with.
If the object group is made up of smaller individual parts, you can separate them.
At this point, you can even split the individual further, until you have the “single object”.
Separation n.1 divides the group into single objects.
Then, they have split again into four different rings.
Now we have set the basis of how to modify the 3D object.
As you have seen, it is possible to create 3D models starting from simple geometries, like overlapped rings.
Also, you can move the elements and modify their geometry; this way you’ll create a new object.
It is possible to simplify 3D models already existing or you can make them more complex.
What is important to understand is that a final 3D object can be the result of many other smaller objects linked together.
